Harlingen (HAR - lin - jin-5) is a city in the US state of Texas on the Gulf of Mexico, north of Corpus Christi, Texas. The city covers an area of about 2.2 million square kilometers and is home to a population of about 2,000 people. It is part of the Brownsville-Harlingens metropolitan area, which includes the Matamoros-Brownsville metropolitan area, which includes the cities of Matamoros, Brownsfield, Raymondville and the city of Harlingsen, as well as the city of Browns County.
